Sincere Apologies the ASD Way

Boy with autism holidaying in Malaysia with family.

Went to beach and tripped over some American ladies.

Mom insisted he apologized as part of his social skills training.

True to autism, he honestly looked at each of the ladies and starting addressing them one by one, “I am so sorry, fat lady.. I’m so sorry, pretty girl….” !!!!

Older Women Play Mahjong

As I was bringing Camphor class into the kitchen Thursday, Sean saw Ms Loy along the corridor and said that we looked kind of alike.

In the kitchen after greeting me, he continued with saying that Ms. Dolly, Ms Loy and I are like 3 ‘peas in a pod’, reason being that we are all big, funny and we laugh a lot .

Then he said that he thinks I play mahjong. I was curious and asked him why he thought so.
He said he thought that I played mahjong like his mother and her housewife friends do.
I said that I’m a teacher and not a housewife. He said, “No offence meant but older women play mahjong”.
The conversation was quite facinating, so I asked if he thought you and Ms Dolly also played mahjong and he agreed. I then asked who else he thought played mahjong… he mentioned, Mr. Poh, Mr. Jack Lim and Mr. Bay. I asked what about Mrs. Gilbert whom he was’nt sure at first but thought so later. When I asked about Mr. Sim, He needed to think for a while and said that “I think he prefers playing cards’….Funny how he thinks.
