Scenario: National Day Preview Show

One part of the NDP show featured greetings from Singaporeans from all over the world.
In one of the clips, a Chinese Singaporean lady said ” I miss Char Kway Teow”

Student seated next to teacher: (giggling) So funny one… her name is Miss Char Kway Teow.

Teacher: No YingXin, the person was referring to the food – Char Kway Teow. She misses the food here, not that her name is Miss Char Kway Teow.

Student (with an embarrassed but whatever look): Oh…ok.

Scenario: Primary 1 Students washing hands at basin in cafe during recess

Teacher: Now, remember to wash your hands with soap to kill the H1N1 germs.

Student 1: Next year will have H2N2 ah….

Student 2: Next year we Primary 2. Primary 1 is H1N1. Next year is H2N2.

Teacher: (broke in laughter) Are you sure about that?

Scenario: P2 Discovery Lesson

Teacher: I’ll be giving smiley faces to those who look and listen when I’m teaching.
I have a good memory so I’ll be looking at who is paying attention and give the smiley face later during choice time.

20 minutes later, teacher is showing some things to class.

Teacher: Oh dear! I forgot to bring one of the things that I want to show the class. I’m sorry class.

Student: (raised hand) But, Ms Lydia, just now you said that you have a good memory.
If you have a good memory, how come you forget to bring the thing?
